Smith.ai AI Receptionist prices as of October 30, 2026

Smith.ai sells two answering products with separate price lists. The AI Receptionist is billed by real calls, starts with a free tier and can pass calls to North America based human receptionists. The human-first virtual receptionist plans cost several times more per call and include a set number of transfer destinations. The table below is the AI Receptionist price list as published on smith.ai on October 30, 2026; the human plans follow under billing.

How billing works

Smith.ai bills by the call, and its human plans cost far more per call

Every Smith.ai plan counts calls, whatever their length. A 40-second call about opening hours and a 9-minute call about a new job each use one call from the allowance. That makes the bill easy to predict if you know your call count, and expensive per minute if most of your calls are short.

The human-first virtual receptionist plans, answered by people, are priced separately: Starter $300 a month for 30 calls ($11.50 per extra call, 1 free transfer destination), Basic $810 for 90 calls ($10.50, 2 destinations) and Pro $2,100 for 300 calls ($8.50, 10 destinations). Enterprise is custom. Those plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee for new clients, up to $1,000, and 10% off for a 12-month subscription.

The AI Receptionist FAQ says an AI call can be handed to a live receptionist at any time. It does not say which AI plan includes that hand-off or what it costs, so ask Smith.ai before you count on it.

Beyond the plan price

Costs and limits to check before you sign up

Overage is priced above the plan rate

On Pro, the 75-call plan works out to $2.00 a call, and each call above the allowance costs $2.50, a quarter more. If you regularly go over, price the next allowance up as well.

Short calls cost as much as long ones

Per-call billing suits businesses whose calls run long. If most of your calls are quick questions, compare the per-call price with a per-minute plan on one typical week of calls.

Custom integrations and setup sit on Enterprise

Smith.ai's Free plan includes native integrations such as Clio and Zapier. Custom integrations, custom prompting by Smith.ai's team and multi-location support are listed for Enterprise only.

Cancelling takes 30 days' notice

The AI Receptionist page states month-to-month service with 30 days' notice to cancel. It states no money-back guarantee for the AI plans; the guarantee on smith.ai/pricing covers the human plans.

Where Voxipo fits

Where Voxipo fits next to Smith.ai's prices

Voxipo is AI only and bills by the minute, from $49 a month for 250 minutes. Your 14-day free trial starts when you create your first workspace, and no card is needed; during it you build the agent and talk to it in the browser, and live calls need a paid plan. There are no human receptionists behind it, and live call transfer is not available yet: when a caller needs a person, the agent saves the call with a transcript and summary so your team can call back.

What Voxipo adds for the price is booking and recovery. The agent checks your availability and books the caller into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel during the call. You keep your existing number: your carrier forwards the calls you do not answer to Voxipo, Voxipo declines the call and schedules the callback, then places one callback from your own SMS-verified business number after a delay you set, 30 seconds by default, only between 8am and 9pm in the caller's time.

The honest answer

When Smith.ai is the better pick

Smith.ai's per-call price buys things Voxipo does not offer. If any of these is a must for you, its higher price is the cost of getting them.

  • You want a human receptionist to take over AI calls, or a person to answer your calls from the start.
  • You are a law firm that needs the Clio integration Smith.ai includes.
  • Your calls are long. At 150 calls a month, Smith.ai Pro costs less than Voxipo once calls average more than about 12 minutes.
  • You want to start on a free tier of 25 real calls a month before paying anything.

Questions

Smith.ai pricing: FAQs

How much does Smith.ai cost per month?

As of October 30, 2026, the Smith.ai AI Receptionist is free for 25 calls, $150 a month for 75 calls on Pro and $500 for 300 calls on Enterprise. Its human receptionist plans cost $300 for 30 calls, $810 for 90 and $2,100 for 300 calls a month.

How much does Smith.ai charge per extra call?

On the AI Receptionist, $3.00 on Free, $2.50 to $2.17 on Pro and $2.17 or $2.10 on Enterprise. On the human plans, $11.50 on Starter, $10.50 on Basic and $8.50 on Pro.

Does Smith.ai have a free trial?

The AI Receptionist has a free tier of 25 real calls a month instead of a trial. For the human plans, Smith.ai lists no free trial and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for new clients, capped at $1,000, though its FAQ also mentions a two-week refund window.

Is Voxipo cheaper than Smith.ai?

For AI answering at the same volume, yes on published prices: 150 calls of about 3 minutes cost $270 on Smith.ai Pro and fit Voxipo's $99 Starter plan with 600 minutes. Smith.ai also sells human receptionists, and its FAQ says AI calls can go to a live receptionist; Voxipo offers neither, so compare what you need before you compare price.

How do I compare a per-call plan with a per-minute plan?

Count one typical week of calls and their total minutes, then multiply by four. Divide the per-call plan price by your calls and the per-minute plan price by your minutes, and add the overage for the calls or minutes above each allowance.
