Voxipo supports Canadian businesses as well as US ones. You choose Canada when you sign up, then either search for a Canadian local number that callers dial straight to the AI receptionist, or keep your existing number and have your carrier forward missed calls so Voxipo calls the person back. What you get
What a Canadian business gets from Voxipo
Voxipo is an AI receptionist for small businesses that depend on the phone. It answers calls dialed to your Voxipo number, collects the caller's details, books appointments into your calendar during the call and saves the recording, transcript and summary. If a caller reaches your own line while you are busy and nobody picks up, your carrier can forward the call to Voxipo, which calls that person back from your own number.
Canada is a supported region with the same product, agent setup and plans as the US. A short list of defaults is set when you pick Canada at onboarding.
Your agent opens each call with a notice that the caller is speaking with an AI assistant for your business and that the call may be recorded. You set the greeting, hours, knowledge and the questions the agent asks.
- Inbound answering on your Voxipo number, around the clock.
- Booking into Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel.
- Missed-call callbacks to callers in Canada and the US.
- Recordings, transcripts, summaries and a lightweight contact list in one place.
What changes
Canadian setup compared with a US setup
Most of the product behaves the same on both sides of the border. The table lists the places where a Canadian business sees something different, and the places where it does not.
| Area | Canadian business | US business |
|---|---|---|
| Region choice | You choose Canada at onboarding, which sets workspace defaults and number search. | You choose the United States. |
| Phone number | Search the marketplace for a Canadian local number that callers dial straight to the agent, or keep your number and have your carrier forward busy and no-answer calls so Voxipo calls the caller back. | Keep your US number, or search for a US local number. |
| Time zone default | Eastern time is the default. Pacific, Mountain, Central and Atlantic are selectable. Newfoundland time and Saskatchewan's year-round Central Standard time are not selectable yet. | A US time zone. |
| Billing currency | US dollars. Your card issuer converts to Canadian dollars. | US dollars. |
| Language | Home-services templates come in English and Spanish. Voxipo makes no French-language claim. | English and Spanish. |
| Callbacks | Go to callers in Canada and the US, between 8am and 9pm in the caller's local time. | Same rule. |
Your number
Keep your Canadian number or search for a new one
Most owners keep the number customers already know. Ask your carrier to set conditional call forwarding for busy and no answer, pointing at your Voxipo missed-call number. Your phone rings first. When you cannot pick up, the carrier forwards the call to Voxipo, which declines the call, schedules the callback and calls the person back from your number after the delay you set. If you would rather have the agent answer those calls live, point the forwarding at your Voxipo answering number instead. One forwarding number cannot do both.
If you prefer a line where the agent answers live, the number marketplace offers US and Canadian local numbers that callers dial directly. Availability by area code is not guaranteed, so search by the area code you want and see what comes back. Every plan includes one local number.
A caller who hangs up before your carrier's no-answer timer finishes never reaches Voxipo. Many carriers let you shorten that timer, which is worth checking when you set up forwarding.
Steps
Setup steps
- 01
Start the free trial
Create a workspace and choose Canada at onboarding. Your 14-day free trial starts when you create your first workspace, and no card is needed. During the trial you build the agent and talk to it in the browser. Connecting a phone number for live calls and callbacks needs a paid plan.
- 02
Write the agent
Add your greeting, hours, services and the questions to ask. Talk to the agent in the browser playground before it takes real calls.
- 03
Connect a calendar
Link Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel so the agent can book while the caller is on the line.
- 04
Pick a number route
When you choose a plan, search for a Canadian local number the agent answers directly, or ask your carrier to forward busy and no-answer calls to Voxipo, which then calls the person back.
- 05
Set the callback delay
Choose how many seconds Voxipo waits before it calls a missed caller back. The range is 0 to 3,600 seconds and the default is 30.
Privacy
Privacy, recordings and what to check
Call recordings and transcripts hold personal information, so your business should read its own privacy obligations before it goes live. This page is not legal advice, and Voxipo makes no data-residency or compliance promise here. If you have questions about where data is stored or how it is handled, ask [email protected].
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada says PIPEDA applies to private-sector organizations across Canada that handle personal information in the course of commercial activity. Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own private-sector privacy laws, which are deemed substantially similar to PIPEDA.
Voxipo is a US-based product, so using it can move your callers' personal information across the border. The Privacy Commissioner's guidelines on processing across borders say PIPEDA does not prohibit such transfers, and the business that transfers the information stays accountable for protecting it.
Anti-spam law is a separate topic. Canada's anti-spam legislation focuses on commercial electronic messages such as unsolicited email and text messages. Voxipo's standard agent has no texting tool, so it does not send texts on your behalf.
Voxipo does not check the National Do Not Call List, and voice telemarketing in Canada has its own rules that your business should look up before using outbound calling. Provincial health-information laws can also matter for clinics that record patient calls.

Language and limits
Where Canadian owners should look closely
Language is the first one. The home-services templates are written for English and Spanish. If a large share of your callers speak French, test the agent in the browser playground with those callers in mind before you route live calls to it.
Billing is the second. Plans are priced in US dollars, so a Canadian card is charged in USD and your card issuer converts the amount. Check your issuer's terms for conversion and fees.
The third is scope. Voxipo does not transfer a call to a person in the middle of a conversation. The agent saves the details and your team calls back. It also books one appointment per time slot for the whole business, so it suits owner-run shops more than multi-chair practices.
Plans
Plans in US dollars
Every plan includes one local number, unlimited AI agents, inbound answering, missed-call callbacks, calendar booking and call records. Plans differ in monthly minutes and in how many calls they take at a time. At launch, all customers also share the platform's call capacity.
| Plan | Price | Minutes | Calls at a time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $49 a month | 250 | Up to 2 |
| Starter | $99 a month | 600 | Up to 5 |
| Growth | $199 a month | 1,400 | Up to 10 |
| Scale | $399 a month | 3,000 | Up to 15 |
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Does Voxipo work for businesses in Canada?
Yes. You choose Canada at onboarding, which sets your workspace defaults, number search and Eastern time default. Pacific, Mountain, Central and Atlantic time are selectable, while Newfoundland and Saskatchewan time zones are not selectable yet. The product and plans are the same as for a US business.
Can I keep my existing Canadian phone number?
Yes. Ask your carrier to set conditional call forwarding for busy and no answer to your Voxipo missed-call number. Voxipo then calls the person back from your number. You can also search the marketplace for a Canadian or US local number the agent answers directly, though availability by area code is not guaranteed.
Do I pay in Canadian dollars?
No. Plans are priced in US dollars, so your card issuer converts the charge to Canadian dollars. Check your issuer for its terms.
Does the agent speak French?
Voxipo makes no French-language claim. The home-services templates cover English and Spanish, so test the agent yourself before relying on it for French-speaking callers.
Where are my call recordings stored?
Voxipo makes no data-residency or compliance promise on this page. Email [email protected] with questions about storage, and read your own privacy obligations before you go live.
Who gets a missed-call callback?
Callers in Canada and the US, between 8am and 9pm in the caller's local time. Voxipo places one callback, and a call missed outside that window gets none. Nobody can call back a hidden number, and callers from outside the US and Canada need a manual follow-up from your team.
