Best AI receptionist for HVAC and plumbing (2026)
There is no single best AI receptionist for every HVAC or plumbing company: pick Rosie or Goodcall for published prices and live transfers (Rosie's transfers start on its $149 plan), My AI Front Desk for texting and many languages in one plan, Smith.ai if you want humans behind the AI, GoHighLevel Voice AI if you already run HighLevel, and Voxipo if your biggest loss is paid calls you miss on the job.
Updated . Voxipo publishes this page and is one of the six products. Competitor prices as of October 2026, from their own websites and help centers.
Criteria
What matters for an HVAC or plumbing company
We compared each product on five things a trades owner asks about. We did not score or rank them: each one suits a different owner, and the table says which.
| Criterion | Why it matters to an HVAC or plumbing owner |
|---|---|
| Calls you miss | CallRail's data shows 28% of inbound calls go unanswered on average. For a trades business, many come in while the crew is on a job. Does the product do anything with them? |
| Booking during the call | A booking made on the call is an appointment on your calendar instead of a message to return. Which calendars does it book into? |
| Live transfer | Emergency calls such as a burst pipe or no heat may need you on the line. |
| Published price | Can you see the cost before a sales call, and is it billed by minute, call or caller? |
| Field-service software | Does it connect to the job or CRM software you already run? |
The list
Six AI receptionists side by side
Voxipo is listed first because we know it best; the others follow in the same order as our comparison pages. A cell that says "not listed" means the vendor's pricing page does not mention it, so ask them before you rule it out.

Strengths
Where each one wins
- Voxipo: Calls back missed callers by voice from your own verified number and can book them during that call.
- Rosie: A $49 entry price, connections to field-service CRMs such as Jobber and Housecall Pro, and transfers and texting from its $149 plan.
- Goodcall: Billing by unique caller, so repeat callers and spam do not use up your plan, and transfers with a backup number.
- My AI Front Desk: Texting, chat, warm transfer and 20+ languages bundled in one published plan.
- Smith.ai: Live receptionists behind the AI for calls that need a person, and a free plan to test on.
- GoHighLevel Voice AI: The voice agent lives inside HighLevel, with transfers, workflows and booking across several calendars.
Voxipo's strengths
- Calls back the people you miss by voice from your own SMS-verified business number, after a delay you set (30 seconds by default), between 8am and 9pm in the caller's time.
- Books into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel during the call.
- Home-services agent templates in English and Spanish, and a browser demo you can talk to before you connect a number.
Voxipo's gaps
- No live call transfer yet. The agent saves the call details and your team calls back.
- No texting tool in the standard setup.
- No published price yet. You ask for a quote.
- Jobber is coming soon, and there is no ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro connection.
- One appointment per time slot for the whole business, so it cannot book two crews into the same hour.
- No callback for calls missed outside 8am to 9pm in the caller's time.

Questions
Choosing an AI receptionist: FAQs
What is the best AI receptionist for an HVAC company?
It depends on where you lose jobs. If you need calls transferred to you, Rosie and Goodcall publish prices and offer transfers. If your loss is paid calls you miss while on a job, Voxipo calls those people back from your business number and can book them into your calendar.
Is Voxipo ranked first because Voxipo wrote this page?
We do not rank the list. Each product is matched to the owner it suits best, and Voxipo's gaps are listed next to its strengths. Competitor facts come from their own websites as of October 2026, with links.
Which AI receptionists offer live transfer for emergencies?
As of October 2026, Rosie (from its $149 plan), Goodcall, My AI Front Desk and GoHighLevel Voice AI transfer calls, and Smith.ai can hand calls to live receptionists. Voxipo does not offer live transfer yet.
Do any of these stop Google charging for missed Local Services Ads calls?
We know of no product that can promise that, and Voxipo has not tested how Google bills a forwarded call. What an AI receptionist can do is answer or call back the people you paid for, which gives you a chance to win the job.
How much does an AI receptionist cost for a plumbing company?
Among the standalone products, published entry prices run from free for 25 calls (Smith.ai) to $99 a month (My AI Front Desk), as of October 2026. GoHighLevel Voice AI needs a HighLevel plan from $97 a month plus Voice AI usage or an AI Employee plan. Voxipo quotes on your call volume. Compare each on one typical week of your own calls.
