Upfirst alternatives

Upfirst alternatives

Upfirst has not shut down: the old upfirst.com address is a parked domain for sale and the service runs at upfirst.ai, so look elsewhere only if per-call billing or its calendar list does not suit you: Rosie and Dialzara bill by the minute, Goodcall bills by unique caller, Smith.ai's AI Receptionist adds live receptionists behind the AI, and Voxipo, from $49 a month, books into Cal.com or GoHighLevel during the call and phones missed callers back from your own number.

Why people switch

Why Upfirst users look at other options

If you typed upfirst.com and found a page offering the domain for sale, the company did not close. Upfirst operates at upfirst.ai, with plans from $24.95 a month and a 14-day free trial that needs no card. It is a capable, low-priced AI receptionist, and many owners should stay. This page is for those who want a different billing model, a calendar Upfirst does not list, or a callback from their own number. Prices were checked on each vendor's website on October 30, 2026.

Thirty calls a month goes quickly

Upfirst Starter is $24.95 for 30 calls with $1.50 for each call over. A business taking 60 calls a month would pay $24.95 plus $45 in overage, $69.95, which is more than the $59.95 Premium plan for 90 calls. Owners who outgrow the entry plan compare per-minute pricing before stepping up.

Your booking tool is not on Upfirst's list

Upfirst books into Google, Outlook, Clio, Acuity, Calendly and Square calendars. Businesses that schedule in Cal.com or run their pipeline in GoHighLevel need a service that books there directly.

Confusion over the old domain

The upfirst.com address now shows a parked page offering the domain for sale, which can look as if the service ended. Check your account at upfirst.ai before you move anything.

The options

5 alternatives to Upfirst

  1. Voxipo

Best for: Service businesses on Cal.com or GoHighLevel, and owners who want missed callers phoned back from their own number. Price: From $49 a month for 250 minutes, 14-day free trial with no card to start.

Voxipo answers calls on its local number and books callers into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel during the conversation. You can keep the number you already advertise: set conditional forwarding with your carrier, and calls you do not pick up go to Voxipo, which phones the caller back from your SMS-verified business number after a delay you set between 0 and 3,600 seconds.

Check first: Live call transfer is not available yet and the standard agent setup cannot text callers. Voxipo makes one callback attempt, only from 8am to 9pm in the caller's local time.

  2. Rosie

Best for: Owners who prefer minutes to calls and want English and Spanish answering. Price: From $49 a month for 250 minutes, 7-day free trial.

Rosie bills by the minute: Professional $49 for 250, Scale $149 for 1,000 and Growth $299 for 2,000, with two months free on annual billing. Scale is the plan that books into your calendar directly, transfers callers and texts them during the call. Growth adds waterfall transfers, training from your documents and white-glove onboarding.

Check first: Rosie's $49 plan sends a booking link by text instead of booking, and has no transfer. Extra minutes are not priced on its pricing page.

  3. Smith.ai AI Receptionist

Best for: Firms that want trained people available behind the AI. Price: Free for 25 calls; Pro from $150 a month for 75 calls.

Smith.ai's AI Receptionist has a free tier for 25 calls, Pro from $150 for 75 calls and Enterprise from $500 for 300. Its FAQ says AI calls can go to a live North America-based receptionist at any time. Smith.ai lists native integrations such as Clio and Zapier on the free tier, with up to 10% of calls removable as spam.

Check first: Paid Smith.ai plans cost more per call than Upfirst, $1.60 to $2.00 a call, with overage from $2.10 to $2.50 a call, or $3.00 past the free tier's 25. Month to month, but 30 days' notice to cancel.

  4. Goodcall

Best for: Shops and front desks where the same customers call several times a month. Price: From $79 a month for 100 unique callers, about 150 calls.

Goodcall counts unique phone numbers per month instead of calls or minutes, so repeat callers count once and spam and wrong numbers do not count. Plans are $79 for 100 callers, $129 for 500 and $299 for 2,000. You can build and test an agent for free and pay only when you connect a number, either a new local one or your forwarded existing line.

Check first: Goodcall's Starter plan keeps 30 days of call history and charges 79 cents per extra caller. Its FAQ names Google Calendar as its native booking connection.

  5. Dialzara

Best for: Low-volume businesses that want minute-based billing. Price: From $29 a month for 60 minutes, 7-day free trial.

Dialzara's minute plans run from Business Lite at $29 for 60 minutes to Elite at $349 for 1,000, with overage between $0.48 and $0.35 a minute and no contract. Blind transfer is on every plan, and Google and Outlook calendar sync start on Business Pro.

Check first: Warm transfer starts on Business Pro at $99, and Dialzara lists initial prompt setup only on Elite.

Where Voxipo fits

Where Voxipo fits for an Upfirst user

Booking in Cal.com and GoHighLevel

Besides Google Calendar and Outlook, Voxipo books into Cal.com and GoHighLevel while the caller is on the line, inside your business hours and minimum notice. In GoHighLevel the appointment sits in the CRM your team already works in.

A callback from the number people know

When a forwarded call reaches Voxipo, it calls the person back from your SMS-verified caller ID rather than an unfamiliar line. You set the wait, 30 seconds by default, and callbacks happen only between 8am and 9pm in the caller's time.

Billed by the minute

Voxipo plans are $49 for 250 minutes, $99 for 600, $199 for 1,400 and $399 for 3,000. Overage is $0.30 a minute on Solo and falls to $0.15 on Scale, and every plan includes one local number and unlimited AI agents.

A small CRM alongside the call log

Recordings, transcripts, summaries and outcomes are saved for the calls Voxipo handles. Contacts are matched by phone number, and you can sort callers into leads and lists.

What Voxipo does not do yet

  • Live call transfer is not available yet, while Upfirst includes warm transfer on its paid plans.
  • The standard agent setup has no texting tool, so the agent cannot send a link mid-call.
  • Voxipo's templates are in English and Spanish. Upfirst lists more than 35 languages.
  • Voxipo does not connect to Clio, Acuity Scheduling or Square Appointments, and its Calendly connection is coming soon.
  • One appointment per time slot for the whole business.

The honest answer

When to stay with Upfirst

Upfirst is cheap, live and broad. For many small offices it remains the better choice.

  • You want the lowest entry price, $24.95 a month, or $20 on annual billing.
  • You need callers warm-transferred to you or your staff during the call.
  • You book in Clio, Acuity, Calendly or Square, which Upfirst supports.
  • Callers speak languages beyond English and Spanish, or you want the AI to text them during the call.
  • Many of your calls are long, so a flat price per call costs less than paying by the minute.

Switching

How to switch from Upfirst to Voxipo

  1. Confirm your Upfirst account first

Log in at upfirst.ai (upfirst.com is parked) and check your plan and call history. If you only wanted to know whether the service still runs, you can stop here.

  2. Start a Voxipo trial and train the agent

Create a workspace to start your 14-day free trial, which needs no card, copy over the greeting and questions you use today, upload your price sheet or FAQ, and test the agent by talking to it in the browser.

  3. Connect the calendar and the phone line

Link Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel and set hours and notice. Once you choose a plan, change your carrier's busy and no-answer forwarding from the Upfirst number to the Voxipo forwarding number, then verify your business number by SMS.

  4. Compare for a couple of weeks

Upfirst has no contract, so you can keep its plan active while Voxipo takes the forwarded calls. Look at bookings made and callbacks answered before you cancel either one.

Questions

Upfirst alternatives: FAQs

Did Upfirst shut down?

No. The upfirst.com domain is parked and listed for sale, but Upfirst runs at upfirst.ai with plans from $24.95 a month and a 14-day free trial, as of October 30, 2026.

What is the cheapest Upfirst alternative?

Smith.ai's AI Receptionist has a free tier for 25 calls. Among paid plans, Dialzara starts at $29 for 60 minutes, and Voxipo and Rosie start at $49 for 250 minutes. Upfirst's own $24.95 Starter plan is still among the lowest entry prices.

Which alternative books into GoHighLevel or Cal.com?

Voxipo books into GoHighLevel, Cal.com, Google Calendar and Outlook during the call. Goodcall's FAQ lists HighLevel as a native connection for leads and contacts, and Rosie's help center lists a GoHighLevel integration that logs calls on the contact. Neither says it books appointments there.

Does Voxipo transfer callers to staff the way Upfirst does?

No, live call transfer is not available in Voxipo yet. The agent records the request and your team calls back. Upfirst, Rosie's Scale plan, Smith.ai's AI Receptionist and Dialzara list transfers.

Can I move from Upfirst without changing my business number?

Yes, if your calls reach Upfirst by forwarding. Point your carrier's busy and no-answer forwarding at Voxipo instead and verify your business number by SMS so callbacks show it.
