Housecall Pro CSR AI alternatives

Housecall Pro CSR AI is the better choice if you want jobs booked straight onto your Housecall Pro schedule, which no option on this page does; if you schedule elsewhere or want a published price, Upfirst, Rosie and Smith.ai's AI Receptionist list their plans openly, Ruby puts people on the phone, and Voxipo books into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel during the call and phones missed callers back from your own number, from $49 a month.

Why people switch

Why Housecall Pro CSR AI users look at other options

Housecall Pro CSR AI is the AI customer service rep inside Housecall Pro. It answers calls and chats around the clock and books jobs into your Housecall Pro schedule using your availability and service preferences. Its price is not published: Housecall Pro CSR AI appears among the add-ons with no figure next to it. This page lists five options with public prices and explains when each makes sense. Prices were checked on each vendor's website on October 30, 2026.

You cannot see the price on its site

Housecall Pro CSR AI is listed as an add-on without a price, on top of a Housecall Pro plan that starts at $79 a month, or $59 on annual billing. Owners who want to compare costs on paper look at services that publish their rates.

Your schedule lives somewhere else

Housecall Pro CSR AI books into the Housecall Pro schedule, and only works for Housecall Pro customers. Contractors who keep the day in Google Calendar, Outlook or GoHighLevel, or who are moving off Housecall Pro, need an AI that books where they work.

Texting is still on the way

Housecall Pro CSR AI answers calls and chats today, and its page lists text handling as Alpha and coming soon. Businesses whose customers mostly text compare options that already reply by text.

The options

5 alternatives to Housecall Pro CSR AI

  1. Voxipo

Best for: HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other trades that schedule in Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel. Price: From $49 a month for 250 minutes, 14-day free trial with no card to start.

Voxipo is an AI receptionist that checks your open times and books the caller into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel before the call ends. Keep the number on your vans: conditional forwarding at your carrier sends missed and busy calls to Voxipo, which calls the person back from your SMS-verified business number after the delay you set. Plans are $49, $99, $199 and $399 a month, with yearly billing at 10 times the monthly price.

Check first: Voxipo does not connect to Housecall Pro, so it cannot place jobs on your Housecall Pro schedule. Live call transfer is not available yet, and the standard agent has no texting tool.

  2. Rosie

Best for: Small shops that want bilingual answering at a published monthly price. Price: From $49 a month for 250 minutes, 7-day free trial.

Rosie answers 24/7 in English and Spanish. The $49 Professional plan takes messages, sends appointment links by text and includes website chat. Scale at $149 for 1,000 minutes adds direct calendar booking, transfers and in-call texts, and Growth at $299 for 2,000 minutes adds custom training from your documents.

Check first: Rosie's help center lists a Housecall Pro integration that sends each call it answers to your Job Inbox, which is different from booking the job. Its pricing page does not state what extra minutes cost.

  3. Upfirst

Best for: Crews that want a low price with transfer, texting and booking on the first plan. Price: From $24.95 a month for 30 calls, 14-day free trial with no card.

Upfirst runs at upfirst.ai, with plans at $24.95 for 30 calls, $59.95 for 90, $159.95 for 300 and $299 for 600, or 20% less on annual billing. All paid Upfirst plans include answering all calls or only overflow and after-hours calls, warm transfers, in-call texting, spam blocking and booking into Google, Outlook, Clio, Acuity, Calendly or Square calendars.

Check first: Upfirst bills by the call, with $0.70 to $1.50 per extra call, and its pricing page does not list Housecall Pro.

  4. Smith.ai AI Receptionist

Best for: Businesses that want people available when the AI is not enough. Price: Free for 25 calls; Pro from $150 a month for 75 calls.

Smith.ai's AI Receptionist runs from a free tier for 25 calls to Pro from $150 for 75 calls and Enterprise from $500 for 300, with up to 10% of calls removable as spam. Smith.ai's FAQ says AI calls can be handed to a live North America-based receptionist at any time.

Check first: Smith.ai charges per call, with overage between $2.10 and $2.50 on paid plans and $3.00 past the free tier's 25, and needs 30 days' notice to cancel. A Housecall Pro connection is not listed on its pricing page.

Where Voxipo fits

Where Voxipo fits for a home-service business

Books into the calendar your techs check

During the call, Voxipo offers open times and books the job into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel, following your business hours and minimum notice. Phone bookings use a standard time slot.

Calls back from the number on your van

When you are on a roof or under a sink, your carrier forwards the call to Voxipo. Voxipo phones the caller back from your SMS-verified number after a wait you set, from 0 seconds up to an hour, so they recognize who is calling.

A price you can see today

Solo is $49 for 250 minutes, Starter $99 for 600, Growth $199 for 1,400 and Scale $399 for 3,000. Each plan includes one local number and as many AI agents as you need. Your 14-day free trial starts when you create your first workspace, and no card is needed.

Templates for the trades

Home-services agent templates come in English and Spanish, and you can talk to your agent in the browser before you connect a phone number.

What Voxipo does not do yet

  • Voxipo does not connect to Housecall Pro. Jobs it books go to your connected calendar, and Voxipo does not write to the Housecall Pro schedule.
  • Live call transfer is not available yet, and there is no Assist Rep or other human backup.
  • The standard agent setup cannot text callers.
  • One appointment per time slot for the whole business, so two techs cannot be booked into the same hour.
  • Missed calls outside 8am to 9pm in the caller's time get no callback, and callers outside the US and Canada need a follow-up by hand.

The honest answer

When to stay with Housecall Pro CSR AI

For a Housecall Pro shop, Housecall Pro CSR AI does the one thing that matters most and Voxipo does not: it books into Housecall Pro.

  • Housecall Pro CSR AI books jobs onto your Housecall Pro schedule using your availability and service preferences.
  • A caller who asks for a person reaches a number you choose or a Housecall Pro Assist Rep, according to Housecall Pro CSR AI's feature page.
  • Housecall Pro CSR AI answers website chats as well as calls, with texting listed as coming.
  • You keep calls and scheduling in Housecall Pro.

Switching

How to switch from Housecall Pro CSR AI to Voxipo

  1. Check where your jobs need to land

If your crew works from the Housecall Pro schedule, Housecall Pro CSR AI is the better fit and you can stop here. Carry on if bookings belong in Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel.

  2. Build the Voxipo agent

Start the 14-day trial, pick a home-services template in English or Spanish, enter your service area, the questions to ask and the wording to use for emergencies, and test the agent by talking to it in your browser.

  3. Connect your calendar and forward your line

Link the calendar your techs use and set hours and minimum notice. When you choose a plan, turn on your carrier's busy and no-answer forwarding to the Voxipo forwarding number, then verify your business number by SMS so callbacks show it.

  4. Retire the old setup

Once the new agent is answering, remove any forwarding that sent calls to Housecall Pro CSR AI. Cancel the add-on under the terms of your Housecall Pro CSR AI agreement.
