Jobber Receptionist alternatives

Jobber Receptionist alternatives

If your jobs and schedule live in Jobber, Jobber Receptionist is usually the better pick because it creates requests and bookings inside Jobber, while Voxipo's Jobber connection is still coming soon; if you schedule somewhere else, Voxipo books into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel during the call and phones missed callers back from your own number from $49 a month, Quo Sona syncs call summaries to Jobber, and Smith.ai, Upfirst and Rosie add broader call transfer.

Why people switch

Why Jobber Receptionist users look at other options

Jobber Receptionist is Jobber's own AI for calls and texts, listed at $29 a month as an add-on and included on the Plus plan. Because Jobber Receptionist works inside Jobber, it can offer visits based on your online booking settings and turn other calls into work requests. That makes Jobber Receptionist hard to beat for a business run on Jobber. This page covers the cases where something else fits better, and five options to look at. Prices were checked on each vendor's own website on October 30, 2026.

Your calendar is not in Jobber

Jobber Receptionist requires Jobber, and some contractors use Jobber for quotes and invoices while running the day from Google Calendar, Outlook or a GoHighLevel pipeline. They want the AI to book where the crew already looks.

You would rather phone missed callers back

Jobber Receptionist texts callers who hang up. Owners whose customers ignore texts from unknown numbers, or who would rather the conversation happen by voice, look for an AI that phones the person back from the business line.

You want people to take more of the calls

Jobber Receptionist transfers a call to you when it hears urgent keywords you choose, such as burst pipe or no heat, and otherwise sends a text alert. Businesses that want a person to pick up more often compare services with broader transfer rules or live receptionists.

The options

5 alternatives to Jobber Receptionist

  1. Voxipo

Best for: Home-service businesses that book in Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel. Price: From $49 a month for 250 minutes, 14-day free trial with no card to start.

On calls to your Voxipo number, the agent checks open times and books the caller into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel during the conversation. Calls you miss on your existing number reach Voxipo through carrier conditional forwarding, and it phones the caller back from your SMS-verified number after a wait you set, 30 seconds by default. Its home-services templates come in English and Spanish.

Check first: Voxipo's Jobber connection is coming soon, so today nothing it books appears in Jobber. Live call transfer is not available yet and the standard agent cannot text callers.

  2. Quo Sona

Best for: Teams that want a shared business phone system with an AI agent, and Quo Sona call summaries in Jobber. Price: Quo from $19 per user a month; Sona free for 10 calls, then from $25 for 40 calls.

Quo, formerly OpenPhone, is a business phone system, and Sona is its AI agent. Sona answers 24/7, texts callers a scheduling link, form or directions mid-call and transfers them to a teammate or department. With Quo Sona, Quo syncs call summaries and contact details to Jobber. Sona tiers are $25 for 40 calls, $49 for 100, $99 for 250 and $199 for 600, on top of a Quo plan at $19, $33 or $47 per user.

Check first: Quo's appointment-setter page documents a booking link rather than direct calendar booking, and Sona cannot reschedule or cancel on a live call. The Sona trial needs a paid Quo plan, and texting adds a $19.50 one-time carrier registration fee.

  3. Smith.ai AI Receptionist

Best for: Businesses that want live receptionists behind the AI. Price: Free for 25 calls; Pro from $150 a month for 75 calls.

Smith.ai's AI Receptionist runs from a free tier of 25 calls to Pro from $150 for 75 calls and Enterprise from $500 for 300. Smith.ai's FAQ says AI calls can go to a live North America-based receptionist at any time, and Smith.ai offers AI scheduling with Calendly and other calendars. Smith.ai also sells fully human plans from $300 for 30 calls.

Check first: Smith.ai bills per call, with overage from $2.10 to $2.50 a call on the paid AI plans and $3.00 past the free plan's 25, and asks for 30 days' notice to cancel. A Jobber connection is not listed on its pricing page.

  4. Upfirst

Best for: Small crews that want transfer and calendar booking at a low price. Price: From $24.95 a month for 30 calls, 14-day free trial with no card.

Upfirst's paid plans all include 24/7 answering, warm transfers to you or your team, in-call texting, caller memory and booking into Google, Outlook, Clio, Acuity, Calendly and Square calendars. Plans are $24.95 for 30 calls, $59.95 for 90, $159.95 for 300 and $299 for 600, and Upfirst ignores spam and calls under 15 seconds.

Check first: Upfirst does not list Jobber on its pricing page. Overage runs $0.70 to $1.50 a call, and the old upfirst.com domain is parked, so use upfirst.ai.

  5. Rosie

Best for: Contractors who want English and Spanish answering on a minute-based plan. Price: From $49 a month for 250 minutes, 7-day free trial.

Rosie's Professional plan is $49 for 250 minutes and texts callers a booking link. The $149 Scale plan for 1,000 minutes books into your calendar directly, adds warm and live transfers and texts callers during the call, and Growth at $299 for 2,000 minutes adds waterfall transfers.

Check first: Rosie's pricing page does not state an overage rate. Its help center lists a Jobber integration that logs each call on the right client, without booking the visit in Jobber.

Where Voxipo fits

Where Voxipo fits for home-service crews

Books where your crew already looks

If the schedule your techs follow is in Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel, Voxipo books the job there while the caller is on the phone, inside your hours and minimum notice. Phone bookings take a standard time slot.

Missed callers hear back by phone

Calls you cannot pick up on your existing number go to Voxipo by carrier conditional forwarding. Voxipo then phones the person from your SMS-verified business number after the delay you choose, between 8am and 9pm in their time.

No field-service software required

Voxipo is priced on its own, from $49 for 250 minutes to $399 for 3,000. It suits businesses that use field-service software for only part of the work, or that are deciding whether to keep it.

Call notes for whoever does the paperwork

Each handled call gets a recording, transcript, summary and outcome, and callers become contacts matched by phone number. Voxipo's Jobber connection is coming soon, and until then someone on your team copies the job into Jobber from that summary.

What Voxipo does not do yet

  • Voxipo's Jobber connection is coming soon. Today it does not create requests, clients or visits in Jobber.
  • Live call transfer is not available yet, so urgent calls are recorded for your team to return.
  • The standard agent setup has no texting tool and does not answer texts.
  • Voxipo books one appointment per time slot across the business, so it cannot fill two crews into the same hour.
  • No callback for missed calls outside 8am to 9pm in the caller's time.

The honest answer

When to stay with Jobber Receptionist

For a business run on Jobber, Jobber Receptionist is the stronger choice in most cases. These are the reasons.

  • Jobber Receptionist creates work requests, visits and tasks inside Jobber, so nobody re-types calls.
  • Visit times come from the online booking settings you already maintain, because Jobber Receptionist reads them from Jobber.
  • It answers texts as well as calls and texts back callers who hang up.
  • It transfers to you on urgent keywords you pick, such as burst pipe or no heat.
  • Jobber Receptionist costs $29 a month as an add-on and comes included on Jobber Plus.

Switching

How to switch from Jobber Receptionist to Voxipo

  1. Decide where bookings should land

If you book in Jobber and want requests created there, stay with Jobber Receptionist. Move only if the schedule your team follows is in Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel.

  2. Set up and test the Voxipo agent

Start your 14-day free trial, which needs no card, choose a home-services template in English or Spanish, add your service area, the questions to ask and the wording to use when a caller says it is urgent, and talk to the agent in the browser until it handles your typical calls.

  3. Move your calls over

Once you choose a plan, turn off the way Jobber Receptionist receives your calls today. For callbacks, set your carrier's busy and no-answer forwarding to the Voxipo forwarding number and verify your business number by SMS. Carrier forwarding has no after-hours trigger, so callers who should reach the agent at night need to dial your Voxipo number.

  4. Copy jobs across by hand for now

Turn off the Receptionist add-on once Voxipo is live. Voxipo's Jobber connection is coming soon, so for now copy booked jobs into Jobber from the call summaries.

Questions

Jobber Receptionist alternatives: FAQs

Is Jobber Receptionist the best AI receptionist for Jobber users?

For most of them, yes. Jobber Receptionist books visits from your Jobber online booking settings and creates requests and tasks inside Jobber, which Voxipo cannot do today. When its Jobber connection, coming soon, ships, phone bookings will create Jobber requests. Look beyond Jobber Receptionist if you schedule outside Jobber or want a different way to follow up.

How much does Jobber Receptionist cost?

Jobber's pricing page lists Jobber Receptionist as a $29 a month add-on, included on the Plus plan. Jobber Receptionist also requires a paid Jobber plan, as of October 30, 2026.

Is Voxipo's Jobber connection still coming soon?

Yes. Voxipo's Jobber connection is coming soon, because Jobber has not approved the app yet. Until then, Voxipo books into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel and saves a call summary. Your team copies the job across from that summary.

Which Jobber Receptionist alternative sends call details to Jobber today?

Quo Sona: Quo syncs call summaries and contact details to Jobber, though Sona texts a scheduling link rather than booking the visit itself. Rosie's help center also lists a Jobber integration that logs each call on the right client.

Which Jobber Receptionist alternative calls missed callers back?

Voxipo phones missed callers back from your SMS-verified business number, between 8am and 9pm in the caller's time. The other options on this page do not list a missed-call callback on their pricing pages.
