Plumbing buyer's guide
Best AI receptionist for plumbers (2026)
For a plumbing company the best AI receptionist depends on who picks up the leak call. Rosie, Goodcall and Dialzara hand calls to a person, Smith.ai puts live receptionists behind the AI, Dialzara has the lowest published price, and Voxipo suits owners who lose Local Services Ads calls while under a sink and want those callers phoned back and booked for an estimate.
Updated . Voxipo publishes this page and is one of the five products listed. Competitor prices as of October 2026 from their own websites.

Who wrote this and how the comparison works
Voxipo sells one of the five products below and published this page. We did not rank or score anything. Each product is matched to the kind of plumbing owner it suits, and Voxipo's gaps get the same space as its strengths.
For a broader comparison across trades, read the HVAC and plumbing guide on this site. This page narrows the question to plumbing and uses fewer products, so the criteria below are the ones a plumber asks about and an HVAC owner might not.
Criteria
Five plumbing questions to put to every vendor
A plumber's phone does not behave like a salon's. A burst supply line, a slow drain and a quote for a repipe all arrive on the same number, and the right response to each is different.
| Question | Why it matters in a plumbing company |
|---|---|
| Leak call or estimate call? | A flooding kitchen needs a person fast. A water heater quote can wait for a booked visit. Check how the agent tells them apart and who decides. |
| Who is the on-call plumber? | If the on-call tech should hear about an urgent job, find out whether the product hands the call over, sends an alert, or only saves a message. |
| Local Services Ads calls | A missed call from a paid ad can cost you a lead fee and the job. Ask what the product does with a call nobody answered. |
| Wording for urgent calls | What the agent says to a caller with water on the floor is a safety matter. Make sure you can set the wording and that the product does not decide urgency for you. |
| Job software | Dispatch and invoicing usually live in a field-service system. Ask which one the product connects to, and what happens to the booking if yours is not on the list. |

Five AI receptionists for a plumbing company
Prices are in US dollars for the entry plans each vendor lists, checked in October 2026. A cell that says not listed means the vendor's page does not mention it, so ask before you rule the product out.

Two kinds of call
Leak calls and estimate calls need different handling
A homeowner with a pipe spraying in the basement wants a person and a time. A landlord asking about a repipe wants a price range and a visit. If one script treats both the same way, you either annoy the second caller or underserve the first.
Whatever product you pick, write two openings. For an estimate, the agent can collect the address, the fixture and whether the caller owns the property, then book a visit. For an urgent call, you decide in advance what the agent says and which number or message your on-call plumber gets afterwards.
With Voxipo the agent follows the wording you approve and records what the caller says. It does not decide that a call is an emergency, dispatch a van or promise an arrival time. Those decisions stay with your staff.
On call
The on-call plumber problem
If your company has one person holding the on-call phone, the question is how fast that person learns about a leak call. Rosie, Goodcall and Dialzara hand a call to a person. Rosie starts that on its $149 plan, and Dialzara hands calls over on every plan. Smith.ai can pass a call to a live receptionist. Voxipo cannot hand a live call to a person yet.
If your on-call plumber must be on the line with the caller, choose a product that hands calls over. If a saved summary and a quick callback are enough for most of your jobs, Voxipo's call record gives the plumber the address, the problem and the callback number in one place.
Paid leads
Local Services Ads and the call nobody answered
Since October 1, 2026 Google can charge for a Local Services Ads call you miss during your business hours when the caller stays on the line for more than 20 seconds. No vendor on this page can promise to stop that charge, and Voxipo has not tested how Google bills a forwarded call.
What a product can change is what happens next. When your carrier forwards the missed call, Voxipo declines it and schedules the callback, then places one callback from your own SMS-verified number after a delay you set, 30 seconds by default, only between 8am and 9pm in the caller's time. A call missed outside that window gets no callback, and a callback can be delayed or missed when lines are busy. Rosie, Goodcall, Dialzara and Smith.ai answer calls you forward to them, and none of their pricing pages lists a callback to missed callers.

Software
What each product connects to
Voxipo does not connect to ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, and Jobber is coming soon. Bookings go into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or a GoHighLevel calendar, and the call record sits in Voxipo's lightweight CRM.
If your office runs on a field-service system, Rosie lists more of them in its help center. If it runs on a shared calendar, the difference narrows. Whichever you pick, ask the vendor to book a test job into your real setup before you pay for a month.
Where each wins
Which plumbing owner each product fits
- Voxipo: owners who pay for Local Services Ads calls and miss them on jobs. It places one callback to the missed caller and can book an estimate on that call. Every plan includes a local number and a lightweight CRM.
- Rosie: owners who run a connected field-service system and want call handoffs from $149 a month.
- Goodcall: shops with many repeat callers, because each phone number counts once a month, and a backup number for urgent handoffs.
- Dialzara: a low-volume plumber who wants the cheapest published start at $29 a month, with call handoffs to the team on every plan.
- Smith.ai: owners who want a person for judgment calls, with a free AI plan to test first.
Voxipo's gaps
Where Voxipo falls short for a plumbing company
- Live call transfer is not available yet, and the standard agent setup has no texting tool. The agent saves the call and your team calls back.
- One appointment per time slot for the whole business, so two crews cannot be booked into the same hour. Phone bookings on Google Calendar, Outlook and GoHighLevel use a fixed 30-minute slot.
- The agent can change or cancel only the booking it made on the same call.
- No connection to ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, and Jobber is coming soon.
- Home-services templates come in English and Spanish only.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI receptionist for a plumbing company?
It depends on your calls. If your on-call plumber needs the caller on the line, Rosie or Goodcall hand calls to a person. If you lose paid Local Services Ads calls while working, Voxipo calls those people back and can book them. Dialzara costs the least to start, and it hands calls to your team on every plan.
Is Voxipo ranked first because Voxipo wrote this page?
No ranking is used. Voxipo is the vendor and publisher, appears first because we know it best, and its gaps are listed beside its strengths. Competitor facts come from their own sites as of October 2026, with links.
Can an AI receptionist handle a plumbing emergency?
It can collect the address and details and follow wording you approve. It should not decide how urgent a leak is or dispatch a plumber. With Voxipo those decisions stay with your staff, and a live handoff to a person is not available yet.
Does Voxipo connect to my plumbing job software?
No. Voxipo does not connect to ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, and its Jobber connection is coming soon. It books into Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com or GoHighLevel and keeps the call record in its own lightweight CRM.
How much does an AI receptionist cost for a plumber?
As of October 2026, published entry prices run from $29 a month (Dialzara, 60 minutes) to $79 (Goodcall, 100 unique callers). Smith.ai has a free AI plan for 25 calls and Pro at $150 for 75 calls, and its human receptionists start at $300 for 30 calls. Voxipo's plans run from Solo at $49 a month for 250 minutes to Scale at $399 for 3,000, and your 14-day free trial starts when you create your first workspace.
Will an AI receptionist stop Google charging for missed Local Services Ads calls?
We know of no vendor that can promise that. An AI receptionist can answer or call back the people you paid for, which gives you a chance to win the job.
